Hello Friends,
I’m hoping this moment finds you well. It has been several months since my last correspondence with several email drafts existing on my laptop; some long abandoned, one in a constant process of edits - perpetually one paragraph away from some grand resolution. Mostly I’ve existed in solitary practice: moving my body, breathing, violin-ing, meditating, reading and the various other intentional modes I use for self development. This too is in a constant state of edits - perpetually one step away from a sense of accomplishment. The above highlights a major difference between practice and performance. All performers seek to present their finished work, while the practitioner makes their art solely for the act of creating. Occasionally we will manage to bridge a practice where passion and profession live a harmonious balance, where one experiences imposed ends in an endless process, but often one of these motivations will dominate. I’ve struggled to strike a balance as a writer of late. Finding a voice and tone that fits a public discourse, and so I’m slower with corresponding. I appreciate the patience and support many of you have made at Patreon in the past and currently. Via this support I am held accountable to release two writings a month on that platform. I’ve been looking for my voice mostly through blogging on esoteric subjects (tarot, chakras, maps of consciousness). I had a violin teacher 20 years ago, convinced I was destined to become "a priest" (her words) from my consistent philosophizing on maps of consciousness; I’m glad to keep this passion alive while practicing the art of sharing which I’ve found can take exceedingly more effort than creating.

The monolith I call my Yoga practice has found a balance between practice and profession for about 15 years; surviving the last few years of great uncertainty - further solidifying “Yoga” as a path core to how I will move through this world. While some practices, such as writing, move into more private corners of self-development - “Yoga” exists for me as a bridge between the personal and the universal. With many opportunities to share this “practice” with you coming up, I am awestruck at the beauty of "Yoga" that doesn't get stuck in theory and looks to inform through direct experience. In a practice such as Hatha Yoga (physical yoga) we develop sensory experience and control to better understand how to direct attention and energy toward a desired end. Through the school of Katonah Yoga (and information from several others) I’ll look to communicate maps of the territory you will personally navigate. This method instigates an act of creating as a cooperative process, where the unfathomable creation is aimed at an esoteric “Union.” I choose to interpret this “Union” as a protracted goal of improving quality of life.

I’m very excited and extremely grateful to tell you I will be returning to Evolve Yoga on December 3rd 2:30-4:30pm for a “Great Practice:”
Inspired by Dharma Mittra, using material from many of my teachers including Nevine Michaan, Simon Park and Abbie Galvin I will be offering a Maha Sadhana, a “Great Practice” at Evolve Yoga in Wayne on Saturday December 3rd. This practice will include sections focusing on breathing, meditation, posture and movement, bridging them together to facilitate an experience of “Union.”
